“Would you be a “deer” and pass me a slice of that elk tenderloin, bacon, and mushroom pizza?”
Jeff “Smoke” Smokevich competed today at the International Pizza Challenge™, using our Matador Store Electric Stone Hearth Deck Oven in the process. We’re betting Jeff felt right at home. Why? Because Jeff uses our Matador Store any time he wants. He already owns a Matador Store at his pizzeria, Brown Dog Pizza in Telluride, CO.
About Jeff “Smoke” Smokevich
Jeff Smokevitch attended the International School of Pizza in 2010, after which he assisted World Pizza Cup Champion and Master Instructor, Tony Geminani, in other school sessions. From Tony, Jeff learned that a combination the best quality ingredients and attention to detail makes the best pizzas.
Tony Geminani asked Jeff to be on the World Pizza Champions team in the fall of 2010. Jeff has continued to compete, and Brown Dog’s pizza was named World’s Best Pizza in the American pan division with a 1st place finish at the International Pizza Expo 2013. Jeff’s pizza took 2nd place overall in the final round of the Pizza Expo’s 2013 challenge. Jeff is one of several pizzaiolos making Detroit-style pizza – with its thick, square pies – famous.
